Shalotte is an independant couture fashion business set in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside.
Famous for being the home of Alice in Wonderland and the Pre Raphealites the beautiful countryside and historicaly classical building provide many inspirations for the the two sisters who run Shalotte as full time designer/makers.
"For us the time spent creating is a labour of love. All items are made by hand and as so are human creations. We love texture, colour, the beauty of a single stitch in cloth and the sparkle of a single glass bead."
Shalotte is three women with a passion for handmade quality with individual yet compatible creative visions and who love to use their hands to create beautiful, one off pieces that are made to wear, use and treasure for years to come.
All piece are made one off without the use of patterns or design plans and embellished with love and beautiful accents such as antique buttons, hand dyed lace, filigree beads and recycled threads
We use a lot of recycle materials in our pieces and you can find things like a child’s skirt turned into an apron, vintage recycled beads in a Gilded Rose piece or handmade ribbon yarn in some knitwear by RoseOak Studio.
Our inspiration comes from many things, from the natural world, to architecture, music and fairy tales .
Everything you find on our website is 100% handmade in England in a low carbon enviroment with an eye on ethical material sourcing.
